What happens after a buyer requests an inspection?

When a buyer finds a matched property in their previewhomes.com.au buyer feed and wants to see it in person, they can request an inspection directly through the platform. Because properties are sent to matched buyers when they are ready, the buyer's property preferences, budget, location and timeframe have already contributed to that connection.

From there, our team coordinates the inspection with the homeowner, while previewhomes.com.au keeps the appointment and property information organised for both sides.

The inspection request comes through

When a buyer requests an inspection, the previewhomes.com.au team is notified and contacts the homeowner directly to arrange a suitable day and time. Nothing is confirmed until a time has been agreed.

Once confirmed, the appointment appears on the homeowner's inspection page within previewhomes.com.au. Upcoming inspections are clearly recorded, while previous inspections remain available, giving the homeowner a clear track record of inspection activity throughout the campaign.

The exact address remains protected

Before an inspection is confirmed, both the street name and house number remain hidden from the buyer. They can review the property information available through their matched feed and decide whether they want to inspect without the homeowner's exact address being disclosed.

Once the inspection is confirmed, the full property address automatically unlocks for that buyer across their inspection, property listing and buyer feed pages. The information is available exactly when they need it, without the address needing to be sent separately.

Keeping inspections organised

If a buyer needs to reschedule or cancel an inspection, they can do so through previewhomes.com.au. Buyers should provide as much notice as possible so the homeowner and our team have adequate time to adjust the appointment.

For homeowners, any confirmed appointments remain organised within their inspection page, with previous inspections retained as part of the property's campaign history. Our team also continues providing updates directly throughout the campaign.

What happens with a tenanted property?

If the property is tenanted, our team coordinates directly with the tenant and ensures inspections are arranged in accordance with Queensland tenancy requirements. The way a buyer discovers the property does not change the tenant's rights or the legal requirements surrounding entry.

For general tenancies in Queensland, the Residential Tenancies Authority states that showing a property to a prospective purchaser generally requires an Entry notice with at least 48 hours' notice. Queensland also has requirements around when entry can occur and the frequency of entry for the same reason.

Our team handles this process, coordinating an appropriate time with the tenant, providing the required notice and ensuring access is arranged correctly before the inspection.

The inspection

Once the appointment is confirmed, the buyer can see the full property address within previewhomes.com.au and attend at the scheduled time. Even when a property strongly aligns with someone's buyer brief, seeing it in person remains an important part of deciding whether it is right for them.

Natural light, outlook, neighbouring properties, proportions, how the home sits on the land and the overall feel of a property can be difficult to understand completely online. Our team conducts the inspection, answers questions and develops a clearer understanding of the buyer's interest and any considerations they may have.

What happens after the inspection?

Following the inspection, our team follows up with the buyer directly, gathers feedback and keeps the homeowner updated. The buyer may want additional information, need time to consider the property, decide it is not right for them or be ready to discuss an offer.

Meanwhile, the property remains active within previewhomes.com.au. Existing matched buyers can continue progressing, and new buyer briefs can create new matches while the property remains available. If the home is not right for a particular buyer, their brief continues working for them and future matched properties can appear in their feed.

When the buyer wants to make an offer

If a buyer wants to proceed, our team moves the conversation into the offer and negotiation stage. We work directly with the buyer and homeowner around price, conditions, settlement and the other terms that can influence an agreement.

The normal legal requirements of a Queensland property transaction still apply to an off-market sale. Queensland's seller disclosure scheme commenced on 1 August 2025 and generally requires the seller to provide the prescribed disclosure statement and relevant certificates before the buyer signs the contract.

previewhomes.com.au changes how buyers and homeowners can connect, not the legal requirements of buying or selling property.

The process continues after the inspection

An inspection is one stage of the broader property campaign. While our team follows up directly with buyers, provides feedback to the homeowner and manages any negotiations, previewhomes.com.au continues connecting the property with current buyer demand.

Existing matched buyers can continue progressing with the property, new buyer briefs can create new matches, and homeowners maintain a clear record of confirmed and previous inspections. From a buyer brief to a matched property, inspection and potential offer, previewhomes.com.au keeps the process connected and organised.
